Description
Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 Cotton Blend Batting 120" × 30-Yard Roll
Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 is a shop-favorite batting among longarm and machine quilters. It combines the softness and traditional drape of cotton with the strength and stability of polyester, creating a durable, low-loft batting that is easy to quilt.
Made from 80% natural cotton and 20% polyester, this batting provides excellent stitch definition while resisting shifting, bunching, and bearding. Its approximately 1/8" loft produces a soft, classic finish without adding excessive bulk.
The generous 120" width allows many quilt tops to be completed without piecing the batting. With 30 continuous yards per roll, it is an economical choice for professional longarm quilters, quilting businesses, and frequent quilters.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the loft of Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 batting?
It has a low loft of approximately 1/8", making it ideal for a soft, traditional quilt finish while still providing clear stitch definition.
Should I pre-wash the batting?
No. Pre-washing is not recommended. Expect approximately 3% to 5% shrinkage during the first wash, which creates the soft, lightly crinkled appearance many quilters prefer.
How far apart can I space my quilting stitches?
Quilting stitches may be spaced up to 4" apart. Closer quilting can provide greater durability and more defined texture.
Is this batting suitable for longarm quilting?
Yes. Its 120" width, stable construction, and easy handling make it an excellent choice for both longarm and domestic machine quilting.
How much batting is included?
Each roll measures 120" wide × 30 yards long, providing 90 continuous feet of batting for multiple quilting projects.
Shipping restriction: Batting rolls can only be shipped within the 48 contiguous United States. Orders shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, or international destinations will be cancelled and refunded.
